BACKGROUND
The rap duo Slow Dance was putting out their new album, “Hunks,” and described it as Yacht Rap - a blend of those smooth 70’s and 80’s yacht rock standards with hip hop. The band had a small following of a few thousand people, based mostly in Seattle.

Get the band’s new album out there with a splash.
IDEA
Make promo albums befitting of the new genre of Yacht Rap - life vests as albums.

Make promo albums befitting of the new genre of Yacht Rap - life vests as albums.
ALBUMSAlbums were constructed from Type III PFDs. Speakers were embedded in the neck area and wired to an mp3 player that contained the tracks. Liner notes were sewn onto the back. Rad 70’s and 80’s fabric replaced the typical orange vest material.

Albums were sent out as PR pieces and featured in Wakeboarding Magazine’s Best New Gear Guide and on the podcast Who Charted.
