HUNKS:
THE FIRST AND ONLY LIFE VEST ALBUM.

Hunks, the second album by the duo Slow Dance, ushered in a new genre described by the band as Yacht Rap, “A blend of smooth 70’s and 80’s yacht rock with hip hop.”

So when it came time to create the album, the only way to bring it to life was as a life vest.

We took existing life vests and embedded speakers into the neck area and wired them to an mp3 player loaded with the album, which clips onto the belt. The back of the album has the liner notes sewn on as a patch. Each album got a unique, 80’s inspired fabric.

Albums were sold, used as promotional pieces and were featured in Wakeboarding Magazine’s Holiday Gift Guide.

PACIFICO CERVEZA:
THE GREY WHALE SESSIONS.

The first importers of Pacifico were California surfers who travelled south to Mexico in search of waves and adventure. In a partnership with Woodshed Films, we created a surf documentary that retraced the path of these cerveza pioneers. The film starred musician Garrett “G Love” Dutton and pro surfer Keith Malloy.

PACIFICO CERVEZA:
DESTINATION WEBSITE.

Pacifico is the beer of authentic experiences and off-the-beaten-path Mexico. To bring that to life online, we took users offline with the first-ever “Destination Website.”

Each page of Pacifico’s site was a real location. We designed our site pages and then hand-pained them onto walls out in the world. Walls were then live-streamed to the web and over the streams we layered in transparent button functionality. Cannes Cyber Lions shortlist.

There I am --->

For over a decade now I’ve lived and worked in Seattle, WA as an art director of varying levels. During this tenure I’ve worked at the scrappy, creative boutique (Creature) and the international satellite with the largest clients in the biz (Publicis) and others inbetween. Every stop has been a fantastic experience of challenge and growth: I’ve led pitches, rebranding efforts, photo shoots, TV shoots, web projects and teams. I’ve won pitches (X4), successfully defended pitches and won at the highest international shows. I’ve also lost at local award shows, lost pitches, and, once, lost my job. As a result of all of this I’m always seeking to improve my craft, whether it’s design and art direction or creative direction.

When not working, you’ll find me outside, travelling to some distant place and volunteering with conservation efforts, camera in tow. Which probably means you won’t find me.
